Christmas and singing

Morgan’s first successful visit to Santa since 6 months old, at her school’s Christmas party, making cookies with Grandpa Wetzel, a full set of stuffed Dora and friends from Dahls, a new bike, getting the motherlode from Santa (the apple was her favorite), silly hats with cousin Caroline, and last but not least… the one thing she wanted most of all… an orange soccer ball.

Also, snuck into the Christmas post because of her somewhat humorous command of the song (despite a false apparent disinterest in this particular video) at the end. Those music lessons are starting to pay off!

Cox Farms Fall Festivals

Morgan got not one, but two Fall trips to Cox Farms this year.

She went in early October for a friend’s birthday party, and again in late October with her school.

It’s interesting, it being one of the first things she’s now done three times, each a year apart, how different each of the three trips was. (Fall 08 visit, Fall 09 visit)

Sense of humor?

We’ve had to go to the doctor a lot in the last few days, and yesterday when riding in the car to the doctor (yet again) we heard Morgan talking to herself repetitively in the backseat. We finally figured out she was trying to tell knock knock jokes (both sides).

It was quite a revelation, in that we had no idea she knew what a joke was, let alone a knock knock joke. Here’s a little video.

Morgan’s loving the pool

She asked to go under water today. We explained (a lot) how she’d have to hold her breath. She tried, but the timing wasn’t always perfect.

After seeing older kids do it a couple weeks ago, she’s also loving jumping into the pool. At the beginning she didn’t really understand how to jump, but she’s getting better. The videos with me (Jim) are from over two weeks ago, while the video with Molly is from today. She actually even did quite a bit better at jumping than is apparent in the Molly video.
