4 word sentences

Morgan is starting to string together 4 word sentences.

The most startling example was ‘I like this song.’ when we were listening to the radio the other morning. Probably most startling because the flow of the sentence was perfect, no halts or pauses.

This morning it was “Daddy sleeping. Mommy all done sleeping.”

Belated Memorial Day pool video

Some video of Morgan playing in the water slides at our Ocean City hotel from Memorial Day…

Much better reaction than last year.

Learning the Calendar

On the way home in the car yesterday she busts out with a “Thursday. Friday. Saturday!” So we started talking about the days of the week. Yesterday was Tuesday. Apparently Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are more fun days to talk about than Tuesday.

And then at dinner she busts out with a “June!”

wow.

Conversation over Breakfast

Morgan: car ride?
Me: yes, we are going to go on a car ride.
Morgan: Swim.
Me: No, we are going to school, to see your friends! and your teachers! Fun!
Morgan: I swim. (somewhat plaintively)
Me: Not today, today we are going to go to school! (somewhat yay team!)
Morgan: Noooo….Swim!
Me, in my head: Oh no. This could be a problem.

A couple of anecdotes

We joined a local pool and went for the first time this afternoon.  Morgan toppled backward in the kiddie pool (in about 18 inches of water) and went underwater.  I scooped her up quickly and gave her a big hug.  I asked if she was okay (she was crying a bit) and she said “I drank water.”

When I was putting her to bed tonight I was telling her how ‘Mommy & Daddy love you very much.’ She asked for her dad, but he had gone to the grocery.  So I said he wasn’t here right now.  She started saying “Daddy…much.  Daddy…much.” which I think was her way of saying she loves her dad very much.
